Quick troubleshooting

  1. 1

    Check the file

Make sure it plays normally before importing it. Try a local WAV, AIFF, MP3, or M4A if the source is unusual.

  2. 2

    Use the original recording

Remove any large manual gain boost or aggressive audio effect, then let LEVELATE handle the levels.

  3. 3

    Restart and retry

Quit LEVELATE, reopen it, and process the file again. Cancelled and failed runs do not consume a trial export.

  4. 4

    Check for an update

Open Settings → General → Software Update and install any available version.

  5. 5

    Send a bug report

Include what you expected, what happened, and whether Voice Isolation or AI Recovery was selected.

Common questions

FAQ

Where does LEVELATE save the finished audio?

The Mac app saves a collision-safe .leveled file beside the original. AI Recovery exports use .recovery instead, so the normal result is never overwritten.

Does LEVELATE upload my recordings?

No. Audio processing runs locally on your device. Your recordings are not sent to LEVELATE or a cloud audio service.

Should I boost quiet audio before using LEVELATE?

Usually, no. Import the original recording without adding a large gain boost first. LEVELATE is designed to raise quiet dialogue while protecting peaks.

How do I move a Pro license to another Mac?

Open Settings, choose Manage under LEVELATE Pro, deactivate the old Mac, then activate the same key on the new Mac.

How do updates work?

LEVELATE checks automatically. You can also open Settings and use Check for Updates. When an update is ready, restart LEVELATE to install it.
